Himal Lubricants (“we”, “us”) operates this website and the Himal Lubricants Rewards Android app so customers in Nepal can browse genuine lubricants, scan pack QR codes, collect Himal Points and redeem shop goods. This policy explains how we use information on the website and inside the app. It is the same policy in both places.

Who this covers

This policy applies to visitors of https://himallube.com and to users of the Himal Lubricants Rewards app. You can browse products, company information, dealers, this policy and our terms without signing in. An account is required only to claim points, place shop orders or send signed-in support messages.

Data we collect

Account: name, mobile number, optional email and delivery address, and a password stored hashed so you can sign in, claim points and receive orders.
Website contact: name, phone, email, subject and message when you use the contact form.
Scan activity: which oil and bottle was scanned, time, device identifier and IP address, so each QR can be used only once and forged codes can be blocked.
Location (optional, scan only): approximate GPS coordinates at the moment you claim a pack, to verify where a bottle was scanned and to reduce fraud. Location is never collected in the background and is not sold. You can deny location and still use the app.
Orders: goods you buy or redeem with Himal Points, payment method (cash on delivery or QR) and the shipping details you provide.
Payment receipts: if you pay by QR, you upload a receipt file (JPG, PNG, PDF or similar) so we can confirm payment before fulfilling the order.
Support: complaints and messages you send through the app or website, and our replies.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate the website and loyalty programme, credit Himal Points, fulfil orders, prevent duplicate or forged QR use, answer enquiries, and contact you about your account. Himal Points are for end customers only. Dealers, distributors and suppliers cannot earn or redeem loyalty points.

App permissions

Camera: only to scan the QR code printed on genuine Himal Lubricants bottles.
Location: only while you scan, to record where a bottle was claimed. You can deny location and still use the app; some fraud checks will be weaker.
Internet: to load products, points, orders and account data from Himal Lubricants servers.

Camera and location are not used for advertising and are not collected while the app is in the background.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share what is needed to run the service with:

SMS or email providers, only if those channels are enabled, to send one-time codes or account messages;
Authorised Himal Lubricants staff who fulfil orders and review payment receipts;
Authorities if the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account from the app: Account → Delete my account → Confirm delete account. You can also use the web form at https://himallube.com/delete-account (mobile number and password, no app required), or email us using the contact details below. We remove or anonymise your personal details. Scan records needed for anti-fraud may be kept in anonymised form.

Your choices

Browse the website and most of the app without creating an account.
Refuse location permission and still scan, shop and use your wallet in most cases.
Change or remove a payment receipt before placing a QR order.
Switch the app between English and Nepali. This preference stays on your device.
Sign out or delete your account from Account in the app.

Children

The website and app are intended for adults who buy or specify lubricants. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the website or app changes. The updated text will appear on this page and in the app. The date below shows when it was last revised.
